“DASH ~ The Independence Colour Run” is an un-timed race in which “DASHERS”, move through powder zones of St. Lucia’s national colours of Cerulean Blue and Light Chrome Yellow.
DASH has become quite the highly anticipated event for men, women and children of all ages; to date we have hosted an aggregate of 7,500 participants or DASHers who have shared in this kaleidoscope of colour and happiness.
In 2020, the fun run/ walk will begin at the SAB Sporting Facility at Vigie field at 6:00am with warm ups and powder/ paraphernalia distributions. The official gun start will be between 6:30am – 7:00am.
Clad in the official white DASH t-shirts and the expected funky accessories, participants will become a moving canvas as they pass through colour zones representing colours of the national flag and corporate houses. DASHERS complete the race with an unforgettable “Independence Village” in Bois D’Orange. As per the normal running order, this larger than life party will be equipped with concessionaires, music, dancing and massive colour throws which create a vivid kaleidoscope of colours and will seek to highlight all things Saint Lucian.
In addition to celebrating our independence, DASH – Independence Colour Run aims to raise funds for a Youth focused cause and this year we have unofficially (as this is not yet been announced) to partner with Junior Achievement St. Lucia. Not one to toot our own trumpet, over the last five years, our small organisation with skeletal resources, have paid out in excess of EC$20k in cash contributions, forged partnerships which benefited the Child Development and Guidance Centre’s & Dunattor Multi Disability Centre’s operation whilst we raised the awareness for these highly underrated institutions on the island.
It is with your organisation’s support, that we will be able to trump this in 2020.
