International Masters Football Invitational
It is with great pleasure that the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports endorses this Saint Lucia International Masters Football Invitational. Veterans in Sports Inc continues to establish themselves as one of the best sports organizations in the region and continues to do their part in ensuring the health and wellness of athletes beyond their retirement age. This regional tournament scheduled from June 3 to June 6, 2022, is in keeping with Governments guided focus of putting our veterans first, as we empower our youth and enthusiasts through sports.
The absence of this event over the last two years has been a huge blow to the nation and we have seen some of our beloved footballers fall prey to covid 19. However, Covid 19 has brought to the fore greater attention to physical literacy. As such, we implore players to pay greater attention to their health on and off the field.
In addition to this, the Saint Lucia International Masters Football Invitational indeed serves as a great addition to the sports tourism thrust that the Government through the Ministry is promoting. Sports tourism is a rapidly growing niche in the travel and tourism industry which provides amazing possibilities. We encourage participants to explore our beautiful island. From Pigeon Island in the north, to the Pitons in the South, we encourage everyone to enjoy our sun, sea and food.
Let me welcome all the sports men, women and enthusiasts to Saint Lucia to this exciting and energy stimulating football invitational.
